día uno

For weeks I've been trying to find the motivation to blog. I usually sit down at my computer, type and backspace and, eventually, give up on blogging all together. If it's a stress to write, I usually won't post it.

I stumbled across this little 31 day project and instantly had a desire to participate. The Lord has been spoken beauty and grace to me these past few weeks, so I'm really excited to see the outcome of this challenge.

What does beauty mean to you?

Growing up my mom always stressed the saying, "Pretty is as pretty does." Simple, yet it holds so much truth. Your heart holds the beauty. I strongly believe that. You can be the most beautiful person in the world, but if your heart is cruel it surpasses it all.

I've recently began re-reading Captivating. The whole concept of the book is to unveil the heart of a woman for who she was created to be. It throws out all the generalizations that society gives women today, and, really, awakens a woman's heart. We, as women, have a beauty to unveil.

"The essence of a woman is Beauty. She is meant to be the incarnation-our experience in human form-of a Captivating God. A God who invites us....Beauty is an essence that dwells in every woman. It was given to her by God. It was given to you."

A few weeks ago the Lord spoke to me grace: live in grace, speak with grace, act with grace. In the Old Testament, chen means grace in Hebrew which denotes gracefulness, beauty and good-will. The New Testament word for grace in Greek charis stands for loveliness, delight and acceptableness.
Everything goes back to the heart.

To me, grace is beauty, and I pray to live with a heart of grace.
